Alexa Apodaca ‘19
Executive Assistant at Women for Afghan Women
Alexa Apodaca ‘19 is a proud graduate of OLP and the Executive Assistant at Women for Afghan Women. She has a background in international development and policy, having served as a Program Associate at the National Democratic Institute in Washington, D.C., where she supported programs in the Latin America and Caribbean region focused on democracy, governance, and human rights. Before that, Alexa was a Research Assistant at the Congressional Research Service in the Foreign Affairs, Defense, and Trade Division, where she contributed to research products international trade, U.S.-Mexico trade, and the multilateral development banks.
She is a proud graduate of the University of California, Berkeley, and holds a B.A. in Political Science and a B.S. in Society and Environment. She completed an undergraduate honors thesis on women’s political representation in Mexico and has a passion for advocacy work on women’s rights at a global level, U.S.-Mexico relations, and democracy worldwide.
