Connect with Maria

Maria Morgan ’17

Research and Development Engineer, Terumo Neuro

Maria is a proud alumna of the Academy of Our Lady of Peace, Class of 2017, and is excited to return to campus to share her journey. After graduating from OLP, she pursued a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering at San Diego State University, where she discovered a passion for using engineering to make a real-world impact. Wanting to further connect engineering with healthcare, she earned a Master’s degree in Bioengineering from the University of California, San Diego.

For the past 3.5 years, Maria has worked in the medical device industry at Terumo Neuro, which designs, develops, and manufactures products for the treatment of neurovascular stroke. She began her career in a rotational program, gaining experience in manufacturing, regulatory affairs, and marketing—an opportunity that helped her learn how different teams work together to bring life-saving devices to market. For the past two years, she has worked in Research and Development, contributing to the design of neurovascular stents that treat brain aneurysms.

What Maria values the most about engineering is the opportunity to solve meaningful problems while learning from others with different skills, perspectives, and experiences. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling, reading, spending time with family and friends, and serving in her church community.
