Owner of Black Lotus Design

I’m Sara Eaton, owner of Black Lotus Design, a floral design company that I started here in San Diego in the early 2000s. I've been a floral designer for 27 years and I am so grateful to San Diego for being a flower-loving community that is very supportive of small floral businesses. Throughout the years, my business has changed and evolved many times. I retired from wedding & event florals in 2020 and I'm now exploring other aspects of floral design and how to give back to the community that has supported my small business for the past 2+ decades. 

In November, I began studying the art of Japanese floral design, Ikebana. In the near future, I would like to share my knowledge of Ikebana with my colleagues suffering from career burnout, and anyone else that may be interested, as a source for healing from stress, anxiety, grief or any of life’s hardships. Floral design is my way of honoring my love of nature, deepening human connection and sharing it as art for others to enjoy.
