Sherry Knight is a veteran broadcast professional and educator who has been a prominent voice in the San Diego media landscape for over two decades. Known to her listeners as the "Funky Filipina," she currently hosts weekday afternoons from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Kyxy 96.5.

Sherry’s career in radio began at age 16 with an internship in San Francisco, following a childhood fascination with the industry that started during a school field trip at age nine. Over the past 30 years, she has cultivated a versatile portfolio working in major markets, including Salinas, Fresno, and Phoenix. Her expertise spans multiple musical formats, including Country, Old School, and Hip Hop.

Prior to her current role at Audacy’s KyXy, where she has served for the last 11 years, Sherry spent over 13 years as an On-Air Personality and Music Director at Magic 92.5.

Beyond the airwaves, Sherry is a Kindergarten Teacher at St. John of the Cross Catholic School and has been there for 16 years now. She maintains this unique dual career with the dedicated support of her family and colleagues. Both roles allow her to stay deeply grounded in her community while mentoring and inspiring the next generation.

Sherry remains deeply grateful for the longevity of both her careers and the opportunity to connect with her listeners and students daily, often referring to both the studio and the classroom as her "happy places."
